Stories published in Kiss Machine and Girls Who Bite Back are in hot demand these days. A short story from KM9, by the talented McKinley M. Hellenes, which I submitted to the Journey Prize, has been accepted! Her story will be reprinted in an anthology and she’s in the running for a $10,000 prize. Sweet! A section of Camilla Gibb’s story, “The World As We Know It,” from KM10, will appear in an upcoming issue of Geist magazine.
Also, Nalo Hopkinson’s fabulous GWBB story, “The Smile on the Face,” which you can read here, is nominated for an Aurora Award and was selected for The Year’s Best Fantasy 5, edited by David Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer.

right on, that’s great! If I had a prize for art/science/fiction to give out, I’d award it to Susan Bustos’s excellent deadpan piece in GWBB.

Sally–Maybe you should make one. You and Susan are the only ones I can think of to nominate, though. Oh, maybe some of Marc Ngui’s work would fit. Hey, you could start a new genre.
