Ahoy, all salty dogs in the Toronto area… The temperature’s dropping, but our pirate grog’s hot!
Kiss Machine is launching VIOLET MIRANDA: GIRL PIRATE #3 of 4 (written by Emily Pohl-Weary and illustrated by Willow Dawson) on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Babel Books & Music (123 Ossington, just north of Queen West), from 7 to 9 pm.
- Jennifer LoveGrove will read from The Dagger Between Her Teeth, in which she resurrects and reinvents the dramatic lives of two eighteenth-century corsairs, Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
- Black Shadrach and Esmerelda Truelove of Pirate Honeymoon will rock you like you’re in a seaside shanty.
- Hot off the press copies of Violet #3!
- Free rum grog and tattoos to ward off scurvy and fit in with the other stylish Queen West pirates…
- And prizes for the best-dressed pirates!
Any scallywags in the mood for continued merriment can saunter down to Sweaty Betty’s bar with us afterwards. It’s just a few doors south…
