Phew! I’m really glad to be home after spending a good part of the past month on the road… My most recent trip was to lovely Vancouver, where the air is sweet and the mountains point your way north.

I was working with Leanne, Andreas and Anastasia at Front Magazine, helping to focus their editorial mandate, cultivate some new contributors, rewrite their grant application and create a production schedule.

Front’s an interesting, highly experimental publication with a mandate similar to Kiss Machine’s to provide a forum for visual artists and writers working below the radar. Except that it’s been running for more than thirty years!

Published out of the Western Front Artist-Run Centre, they’ve got to be breaking some kind of longevity record for independent Canadian magazines.

I got home on Friday at midnight, and basically collapsed on the couch with a book.
