“The Bard of Parkdale”

Iron-on CoverThere’s an article about me and my poetry book, Iron-on Constellations, in the issue of the National Post that’s on sale this weekend. It’s in the Weekend Post Section, page 12: “The Bard of Parkdale” by columnist and author R.M. Vaughan.

Here’s a quote:

“Pohl-Weary is a natural poet, with a sharp set of observation skills. Her poems are succinct narratives, tiny novellas that detail the easy (and sometimes very uneasy) exchanges that pass between lovers, friends, familiar strangers and everyone in between. “

And another:

“The trade in poetic obscurities and intentional opaqueness that plagues so much Canadian poetry, particularly the more academic brands, makes Pohl-Weary testy.”

The article’s worth reading as much for Vaughan’s sense of humour as for what he says about my book–the sign of a great columnist.
