“Sweet, Sometimes Stark”

Iron-on CoverHuh. Header sound like my life? It’s actually from a review of Iron-on Constellations written by Tara-Michelle Ziniuk that’s in the Jan-Feb issue of fab This Magazine. You can read the whole thing online, but here’s the sentence:

Iron-on Constellations is a collection of sweet, sometimes stark poems.

and a little more:

Her poems mix classic poetics with an unusual muse: the wallflowers and underbellies of her hometown, which she paints so realistically, then picks the paint off of again.

Nice to get in my inbox during a dreary spell of late December weather. Jesse and I are putting off a road trip adventure to Virginia and Georgia while we wait for my laptop to get fixed and (hopefully) the next draft of my mystery novel to arrive…
